FiberZone Networks AFM-360 Certified as Carrier-Class, Receives NEBS Certification from MET Laboratories

Bethesda, MD and Baltimore, MD, USA - June 29, 2009 FiberZone Networks Inc. announces the completion of Telcordia's NEBS Level 3, the most demanding NEBS certification, with MET Laboratories. FiberZone also concluded ETSI, VCCI, UL, FCC, CE, and other certifications, completing all key international testing on its AFM-360 system. These certifications validate the carrier-class reliability, safety, and environmental suitability of FiberZone's Automated Fiber Management (AFM), the first product to deliver remote control and automation to the fiber infrastructure while maintaining the attributes and reliability of a manual patch panel.

"As much as network operators crave the benefits of automation, they absolutely insist on meeting critical reliability and performance characteristics," said Joe Teixeira, VP Product Management, FiberZone Networks. "Working with MET Laboratories on NEBS was a great experience. MET is highly professional and efficient, and they have tremendous expertise in testing both electrical and electro-mechanical devices."

"The AFM-360 certification process was very smooth, and took less than two months," said Robert Frier, President of MET Laboratories. "We worked closely with the FiberZone team, which showed its dedication and determination to deliver a carrier-class product. FiberZone's AFM-360 completed the NEBS Level 3 tests in an exceptionally short period of time."

"We have delivered AFM systems to all of our major target markets, and our technology has now been tested rigorously both by independent labs and in some of the most demanding carrier and data center facilities," said Yosi Lahad, CEO of FiberZone Networks. "Passing NEBS and other international tests, such as ETSI and VCCI confirms the stringent standards to which the AFM-360 has been developed and demonstrates the product's readiness to support multiple applications in fiber network environments."

The completion of NEBS, in addition to other certifications such as ETSI, VCCI, ETS, EN, IEC, FCC, UL, and CE concludes a comprehensive program of internal and external tests in a variety of network environments. Passing NEBS Level 3, its most demanding criteria, enables FiberZone AFM to be deployed in some of the most challenging environments, such as Zone 4 earthquake areas. These certifications also confirm AFM's electromagnetic compatibility with EMC/EMI, thermal robustness, fire resistance, compatibility with high voltage, and airborne contaminants.

About FiberZone

FiberZone Networks delivers remote fiber connectivity solutions to datacenters and networks with its Automatic Fiber Management (AFM) product line, delivering reliability, flexibility, fault tolerance and management to the fiber infrastructure. FiberZone's AFM significantly increases network reliability and availability, reduces operating costs, minimizes network faults and human errors, and prevents revenue losses & SLA (Service Level Agreement) penalties. FiberZone's AFM product line utilizes patent-pending Latched Optical Coupling (LOCTM) technology that delivers reliable passive connectivity in a remotely-managed automated fiber management system. FiberZone's AFM product line has been deployed by leading datacenter and network operators in the U.S., Asia, and Europe.
